Dr Lochlin Brown was born and raised on the Gold Coast. He completed his schooling at The Southport School and then attended the University of Queensland. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1999 and a combined Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 2003. Lochlin then went on to do internships at Princess Alexandra Hospital and Royal Brisbane Hospital.

After residency Dr Brown pursued his passion for orthopaedic surgery. He completed his orthopaedic training in Queensland, gaining significant exposure to all forms of orthopaedic surgery, trauma surgery, and hip and knee surgery working with some of the state’s leading orthopaedic surgeons.
After completing his orthopaedic surgical training in 2012, Dr Brown was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons in Orthopaedic Surgery. He then moved to Edinburgh, Scotland to gain post-graduate experience in hip and knee surgery at the world renowned Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

After completing his fellowship training Dr Brown returned to the Gold Coast. He practices in both the public and private sector. He is employed as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at the Gold Coast University Hospital and works privately at Gold Coast Private Hospital and Pindara Private Hospital. He is actively involved in the training of junior medical staff, nursing staff, and medical students, including being a former director of Training for the Australia Orthopaedic Associaton.
 

Personal Life and Family

Outside Orthopaedics, Dr Brown is a proud father of two, an avid golfer and snow skier, and is the on-field doctor for the Gold Coast Suns home games!
